Music and nature are intimately connected. Inspired by scientific studies, I attempted an experiment to explore this mysterious effect. It's important to note that this experiment was not conducted under optimal scientific conditions in terms of duration and equipment (I don't happen to own a laboratory, you know), making the results interesting but inconclusive.
Research conducted by scientists like Mazlan and the Petrescu team (I've provided the references below) has delved into the impact of music on plant growth. These more rigorous studies provide a fascinating backdrop for our experimentation!
Over a period of 15 days, I exposed ivy cuttings to the Christmas albums of Michael Bublé and Mariah Carey. A third cutting served as a control and was subjected to silence.
Surprisingly, the plant exposed to Mariah Carey's music exhibited more noticeable growth, with the emergence of several new leaves. While this observation is intriguing, it should be approached with caution due to the methodological limitations of the experiment.
These results raise questions about the potential of music to influence the natural environment, although definitive conclusions cannot be drawn. The experiment suggests a possible avenue for future exploration of the influence of different music genres on plants, although further research is needed to fully understand this phenomenon. It will be interesting to refer to existing studies!
Although my experiment cannot be considered scientifically rigorous, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the possible relationship between music and plant growth. This encourages us to contemplate how our environment responds to music.
